Hal Marie Saga (they/she) is a Filipino freelance journalist for AfroLA. In their time as a student at Cypress College in Orange County, Hal has been editor-in-chief for CANDID! Magazine and a staff writer for The Cypress Chronicle. They enjoy covering stories on education, art and culture. When not writing, they spend time looking at cats at PetSmart — especially orange ones.
