Amani Hamed

Amani Hamed (she/her) is a journalist based in San Jose, California. She enjoys writing about anything, and has covered everything from homelessness and crime, visual arts, film and TV. Amani is also an avid photographer and loves capturing a story in a photo.

When she’s not writing, Amani can be found tending to her small jungle of house plants or exploring beaches and public gardens in the Bay Area (on Muwekma Ohlone and Ohlone Costanoan land). She always has chocolate on hand, and will always try to “pspspspsps” the street cats, even if you tell her not to.
